The father who is suposedly living nesrby the wilderness has nicer skin than a hollywood celebrity, I couldnt believe anything he said with that tidy face and hair considering he is suposed to be a tough man from the outdoors. The acting is not great either. I give a star for the photograohy and the landscape which are nice. At its core, the film explores the balance between independence and protection, showing how complicated and meaningful that bond can truly be. The emotional push and pull between the characters gives the story its strongest moments and helps it feel personal and impactful. The performances are what really hold everything together, bringing sincerity and emotional weight to a screenplay that does not always go as deep as it could have. Without the actors, some of the quieter moments may have fallen flat, but their chemistry keeps the film engaging and believable. It is not a perfect movie, and there are definitely some pacing issues and missed opportunities throughout, but it still delivers enough emotional truth and character development to make it worth watching. Yet, Bill Pullman is like a big grizzly Hollywood bear who seems to sniff out these kinds of movie roles, I'm surprised his wasn't bigger. See more Luke T @RT62728651 11/23/2024 Sat through about 12 minutes of this film and couldn't stomach any more of the stilted awkward dialogue. I don't care if they are trying to portray an awkward and strained relationship between the father and son, no one talks like that.
