How do you find lasting love in today's world? For documentary-maker and dating app addict Zoe (Lily James), swiping right has only delivered an endless stream of Mr. Wrongs, to her eccentric mother Cath's (Emma Thompson) dismay. For Zoe's childhood friend and neighbor Kaz (Shazad Latif), the answer is to follow his parents' example and opt for an arranged (or "assisted") marriage to a bright and beautiful bride from Pakistan. As Zoe films his hopeful journey from London to Lahore to marry a stranger, chosen by his parents, she begins to wonder if she might have something to learn from a profoundly different approach to finding love.

Such wrong representation of a culture. Also yet again, a white savior saving a family from a ‘supposedly’ repressed culture!! This cliche has been used so many times that it has lost its uniqueness! Very predictable ending!

A really enjoyable comedic examination of the cultural clash of Indian and British cultures and how they integrate, learn and evolve together. A different take on love and what it means to love. Romantic comedies are by their very nature mostly very predictable, there are a lot of predictable things in this but if you can overlook them it is a fun film with eastern spice.

I loved this movie. It's a feel-good lovely film with a great story of cultural differences but showing basically we're all the same. Great scenes of another culture, life in modern England, love and heartbreak, and some very funny lines. Makes a nice change from all the violence and crime. A great Saturday night watch. I recommend this film especially if you like a good light-hearted romance.
