Prince Thadeous has always lived his life in the shadow of his brother, the heir apparent, Prince Fabious. Tired of always being passed over, Thadeous is now content to slack off, drink mead and enjoy the company of a maiden or two, while Fabious has fabulous adventures. But when an evil wizard kidnaps Fabious' fiancée, Thadeous has no choice but to find his inner hero and join his brother's quest to save her.

At the same time, Green is far too talented a filmmaker for this picture to be quite this unrelentingly terrible, and for everyone involved I can't help but think this is a collective low none of them will soon live down.

These reviews must be from the saddest losers the internet has to offer. This movie is a masterpiece- saw it for the first time 15 years ago in college and have seen it 10 times since. It is brilliant and timeless.

Delightfully irreverent fantasy comedy that nails the mix of medieval adventure and unapologetic raunchiness. The vulgar jokes -packed with profanity, sexual innuendos, and absurd moments (that minotaur scene!) - are perfectly timed and contextual, elevating the parody of sword-and-sorcery tales instead of cheapening them. Danny McBride’s deadpan slacker prince, Natalie Portman’s badass warrior, and James Franco’s earnest hero sell every ridiculous bit. Visually impressive with great effects and creature designs, it’s a loving spoof laced with stoner-comedy vibes. The crude humor lands so successfully and appropriately that it makes the whole silly ride hilarious. Underrated gem for anyone craving filthy, fun escapism.

The funniest movie I've seen in years, what are these stuffy critics talking about? It's one of the best fantasy films ever with great effects and a hilarious script delivered masterfully by McBride, Franco and the actor who played Courtney the slave, my favorite character. Natalie Portman reminds us that women aren't that funny and is caked in makeup, but even she can't ruin this classic, bawdy romp. Anyone who loves the stoner comedies of that era will love this!
