Seven Samurai (1954) Steven Snyder It is clearly one of the most influential films ever made, and remains awe-inspiring even today.

3/4
Two Weeks Notice (2002) Steven Snyder For once, a movie does not proclaim the truth about two love-struck somebodies, but permits them time and space to convince us of that all on their own.

L'Atalante (1934) Steven Snyder Hands down one of the most poetic, romantic and sentimental films I have ever seen.

This Island Earth (1955) Steven Snyder An appalling film, but good fodder for the mocking in "Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie"

4/5
Back to the Future (1985) Steven Snyder A hilarious romp of time travel, sentimentality and, surprisingly, some genuine suspense

3.5/4
Solaris (2002) Steven Snyder Some movies blend together as they become distant memories. Mention "Solaris" five years from now and I'm sure those who saw it will have an opinion to share.

Goodfellas (1990) Steven Snyder One of the very best gangster films ever made and a prime example of why Scorsese at his best is irresistible.

2.5/4
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002) Steven Snyder "The Chamber of Secrets," while more visually striking and entertaining, still suffers from many of the same problems that plagued "The Sorcerer's Stone."

The Tuxedo (2002) Steven Snyder I patiently waited for the credits and then ran for the exit.

2.5/4
Red Dragon (2002) Steven Snyder "Red Dragon" is entertaining. An obvious copy of one of the best films ever made, how could it not be? But it is entertaining on an inferior level. It is a popcorn film, not a must-own, or even a must-see.

Come and See (1985) Steven Snyder Almost too chilling....it haunts beyond the point of entertainment.

2/5
Weekend at Bernie's II (1993) Steven Snyder At times funny, but more often stupid.

2.5/4
The Truth About Charlie (2002) Steven Snyder It successfully lured me into a world of shadows, mysteries and confusion. Maybe it did its job, in that regard, a little too well. By the film's end, I couldn't find my way back.

The 51st State (2001) Steven Snyder I enjoyed "Formula 51" in a guilty kind of way

4/4
Minority Report (2002) Steven Snyder Minority Report is moviemaking at its best and what movie going is all about.
Posted Jun 18, 2002Edit critic review
1.5/4
The Sum of All Fears (2002) Steven Snyder ...post-September 11, "The Sum Of All Fears" seems more tacky and reprehensible, manipulating our collective fear without bestowing the subject with the intelligence or sincerity it unequivocally deserves.
