Dennis B @TRUEBLUEFOOL Jan 14 I found the liberties taken by the film makers distasteful. I mean hitler was a terrible person. This we can all agree on. He was largely successful selling greetings cards and building diagrams. Enough to pay for hotels. He was rejected by art school that should be enough. Hitler loved animals more than people and would never hurt one. Also he was a distinguised war hero. These are facts. The movie turns him into a whiny person who could have never come to power as a leader of any country. He was overly charismatic and an excellent orator. To get to power he downplayed the race card until he achieved ultimate power. Then he showed his monstrous side. I mean it was always their via mein kampf. But few read it until he was in power. Why can't we have accuracy In movies anymore. Even the historian who the few accurate facts came from made the movie remove his name. That's pretty bad as is this movies accuracy. These are my opinions. Truth is always better than lies. See more Quandale Jul 25 A compelling insight into how Adolf Hitler rose to power. It humanizes Hitler unlike any other film can See more Emily P Feb 28 I know we learned all the things that were in the miniseries from History classes and the History Channel but we need to remember “If we don’t learn from History we’re doomed to repeat it.” How one man could convince people that was group of religious people were to blame for all the problems in Europe is unbelievable. So many lives could’ve been saved if people didn’t believe the words of one man. See more Dequavias J @Dequavias1 01/27/2025 You know imma be so real wit all you rn, I support Hitler and let me tell you why. Sure what he did was not the best but he was expressing his feelings. You cant be mad at a man for expressing feelings. Hitlers a good guy. But W movie See more bob c 12/30/2024 Truncated, simplistic and all - but a quite reasonable three hour account of how Hitler got absolute power in one of the world’s then - and now - leading states. I assume the diminutive Carlyle was deliberately diminutive - which Hitler wasn’t. And he plays him as a loonie - which suits the then narrative of twenty years ago. But when there are quite a few countries with dreadful killers in charge, you need more than that to explain the phenomenon. And this doesn’t really offer one. Peter O’Toole looks drunk and dying. Stomare is good as Rohm. The superfluous American actors are in for the marketing. Nonetheless, entertaining and instructive. See more Moppy 11/27/2024 Disturbing as well as thrilling. Robert Carlyle was perfectly cast and truly brought out the evil within. See more Read all reviews
