Thunderbolts* (2025) John Nguyen "Thunderbolts was a refreshing take on the superhero team movies, and it comprises of a bunch of antiheroes as they try to do good while dealing with their messed up past. The heart of the film is Florence Pugh, David Harbour and Lewis Pullman.

Mickey 17 (2025) John Nguyen Robert Pattinson is a blast to watch as he plays different characters in Mickey 17, and there is fun to be had watching a human colony trying to survive a hostile world. However, it was a lost opportunity with the film switching up the third act.

Companion (2025) John Nguyen [Companion] is a delightful blend of hilarity, intensity, and suspense, driven by Drew Hancock’s sharp direction and script. The performances by Quaid, Thatcher and the rest of the cast elevate the film into something truly memorable.

Venom: The Last Dance (2024) John Nguyen Venom: The Last Dance is unintentionally hilarious, and many parts had me rolling my eyes. The friendship between Eddie Brock and Venom was fun. Sadly, the story, dialogue, and characters were mediocre.

Transformers One (2024) John Nguyen Transformers One was surprisingly well done. It's now one of my favorite Transformers movies and is an entertaining adventure where we get to see the rise of Megatron and Optimus Prime.

Joker: Folie à Deux (2024) John Nguyen Joker: Folie à Deux defies all expectations. Dancing and music are pivotal in the first Joker film, and it’s blown up into a jukebox musical with raw and engaging performances from Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix.

Dune: Part Two (2024) John Nguyen Dune Part Two is almost 3 hours long, and it still left me wanting more. Denis Villeneuve is back with another sweeping epic. It has to be seen on the biggest screen and the loudest speakers, and the Dolby Atmos version I experienced was shaking my seats.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023) John Nguyen There’s plenty of action and adventure with Jason Momoa having a blast as Arthur Curry. Seeing Momoa and Patrick Wilson teaming up was something I didn’t know I needed, but I want more of their adventures.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023) John Nguyen I'm still entertained by it. I still like the Easter eggs. Brian Tyler's score is amazing in this with the blending of the different themes from Mario, while making it very orchestral and cinematic and just a lot of fun.
