What to Know

Critics Consensus

The Madison may not be an all-inclusive stay, but it offers a top-tier Michelle Pfeiffer, beautiful East Coast locations, and an expansion of the Taylor Sheridan universe, which is satisfying enough.

Some scenes and concepts in The Madison are absurd in the extreme, like the idea that the streets of New York are more dangerous than any wild west. But there also are moments of true beauty and calm. Go to Full Review

Michelle Pfeiffer enters the Taylor Sheridan universe in stellar form even when he sinks her in a Montana vs Manhattan grudge match that’ll bore you breathless. Go to Full Review

Taylor Sheridan scores again with this saga about the Clyburns. Superficially, there's lots of urban vs. rural conflict. Thematically, it's all about responsibility and relationships. Propelling the plot, Michelle Pfeiffer is magnificent. Go to Full Review

This is a touching drama that will hit you emotionally and gut-wrenchingly, but will also leave you wanting to take stock of your own family and relationships. Go to Full Review

If you are capable of this kind of insight and this level of empathy, it becomes a choice not to apply it to all your characters and locations. And that’s an ugly choice to make. Go to Full Review

Jenilee C @RT82683586 9h This is by far one of the absolute best series on grief. It was fabulous. Breathtaking cinematography as always from Taylor. I often wondered what Taylor witnessed or went through to be able to write such a show. Michelle P. Is reminding the world that she dies NOT play when she acts. She was the show!! And Kurt. The elite of acting. I can not say enough. See more RC T @Roxann 10h This show reminds of a Hallmark movie except Sheridan can’t write women at all. Every show has women depicted the same but as long as they are good looking who cares I guess 🙄 See more Art T @artechno 11h This is my first time watching Taylor Sheridan's western vision and I initally found it heartwarming, authentic, and character driven, and then I didn't. kudos to Michelle who is always 'real,' but the dialog was stunted, the females, entitled and insufferable, and story derails at regular intervals as if it were driven by a drunk driver too afraid to write real human emotions. Sorry. See more Jacky J @RT94505828 20h I’m I need to get this off my chest! I loved the first few episodes of this…a big Matthew Fox fan, and Kurt Russel was good. As a Brit would now love to see Montana but very unlikely with the current situation in the US. Did not find any of the female characters likeable at all (I really tried with Michelle). Now she’s started drinking with her therapist eeeuwww, cringe. I’m out. See more Arlene D. @SweetArlene 1d Beautiful scenery, good story, Michelle Pfeiffer is amazing, but why does Taylor Sheridan write females so poorly? Seriously, does he hate women? He shows a woman’s bottom repeatedly, supposedly to show where she got stung by hornets, but it’s a gratuitous shot of a naked bottom. Why do the big streaming services buy his garbage? Enough already. See more James K @JKONE 1d ... I just wished they treated Russell with more respect, he was the biggest non-lawyer, lawyer, in NYC. See more Read all reviews
