The movie was so bad that I could genuinely yap for hours about how incompetent the writers were for the movie, if death note was real "the anime" light yagamj would probably write the names of the writers because the movie is worse than the war crimes committed by Germany in WW1 and WW2 combined. I would give this movie a 0/5 stars if it was possible

Personally, I think that this movie would be rated much better if it wasn't related to the Manga or Anime. This movie isn't all too bad, it does occasionally contradict (e.g. Watari getting controled by the death note despite not having his last name written down) itself, it has some strange changes from the source material and some dialog doesn't make too much sense if you think about it too hard. I thought that the casting was really good, Willem Dafoe makes a pretty good God of death and L's actor (Sorry, I don't know his name) was also pretty good considering the story. My only problem is that Ryuk doesn't have much screentime and the characters feel a bit 2 dimensional. I also miss the convouluted plots of the original, but I suppose it would make the Movie too long if they had to explain plans half the movie. They defnitley made strange changes from the original (e.g. burning a page of the death note to save someone, and the movie taking place in Seattle instead of Japan)

absolutely horrible! im outraged honestly, this is nothing like the anime! makes me want to be put in the death note. they made L nothing like the anime L, Light is called Light Turner. Its been absolutely americanized! horrible. please make sure this movie gets removed from the multiverse! thankyou!!!!!! if you have watched this movie im sorry!!
