The way that the characters embrace their emotions and wants in the moment was beautiful and hopeful, as well as the family accepting each other at the end. See more Trevor G @JaySherman Dec 14 I watched Love The Coopers yesterday, and while it could do without the sing-a-longs that I fast forwarded through, it's worth the watch. Olivia Wild's character drove a lot of the momentum with her will they, won't they airport romance. Was she a manic pixie girl? Typically those help a male protagonist realize something about themselves - but that didn't happen here. TLDR: If you're looking for a movie that's Christmas-themed, to eat dinner to with family and celebrate the holiday spirit, this'll do the job. I thought this movie was adorable. I don't usually like corny family movies but this wasn't too corny. I thought this movie would be boring or bad because of the rating and it ended up very worth the 1 hr 38 min run time. I loved Alan Arkin and Jake Lacey. Loved how adorable Timothée Chalamet was when he was a teenager. Steve Martin narrating was an amazing choice. Showing the "kid" versions of them throughout the movie made me think of my own child self vs my adult self and I thought it was clever that they chose to do that. I only gave it 4 stars because it's just a Christmas movie, not some kind of epic masterpiece, but it's a great movie and I have already recommended it to my family members.
