The world of “Lanterns” prefers to be bracingly honest about our false assumptions about heroism and whether the people we deem to be noble really are... That is what makes a Lantern a hero, and this adaptation one of the best of its kind in a long time. Go to Full Review

Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre go way beyond the call of comic-book duty to bring humanity to the usual alien mashup. Much appreciated. Go to Full Review

The Green Lantern mythos is too goofy to be grounded no matter how much swearing or sex is added in. I’d rather HBO had hired co-creator Damon Lindelof to make another season of Watchmen instead. Go to Full Review

Considering how the show soars to gripping heights in its mid-season episodes, there’s good cause to be optimistic for a heroic conclusion – that could, once and for all, restore Green Lantern's light. Go to Full Review

DC Comics' Lanterns episode three, written by Vanessa Baden (Animal Kingdom, writing credit), is some of the best writing I’ve experienced on a TV series this year. Go to Full Review

The series stumbles over exposition, loses momentum, and sometimes mistakes solemnity for slowness. But Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre sustain their conflict with a humanity that no glowing construct could replace. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Elton O @RT42131342 20 hrs ago This series destroys the Green Lantern lore. It’s a festival of absurdity that has absolutely nothing to do with the characters. I’m praying to God that this series ends soon. It feels like they took elements from the comics just to use the Green Lantern name while completely ignoring the essence, history, and everything that made these characters so important. It’s honestly hard to watch and recognize the story that is supposedly being adapted. See more Joshua G @RT00929490 21 hrs ago Acting and storyline are fantastic. The storyline is gripping, the character development and hero arc are really well done, and the actors do an incredible job of bringing the story to life. Every episode builds on the last and leaves me wanting to see what happens next. The pacing, performances, and overall storytelling have been excellent so far. Easily one of those shows where finishing an episode just makes you want to start the next one straight away. See more Read all reviews
