Jeannine P @RT29750446 2 hrs ago I was excited when this series first came out. I then realized that Dustin is too loud and sometimes annoying, not like in the original series. He is overly excited ALL THE TIME. Also eleven talks like she is two years old. I know she didn't have a lot of interaction with people, but come on. She's how old now? A bit older from when the first found her. I thought the second season would have been better in those two areas but overall it gets my attention once I can get past Dustin's annoying voice and mannerism and eleven's speech problem. New adventures with familiar characters. Unfortunately a lot of the reviews by some are simply rooted in feelings about season 5. I ended up enjoying it way more than I expected, and I’m genuinely excited for another season. A huge reason I loved it was the voice acting. The cast brought these characters back in a way that felt authentic to the original series. El and Dustin especially carried so much emotional weight, and at times the performances sounded so close to the live action versions that I forgot I was watching their cartoons. They didn’t just imitate the originals they captured the personalities and energy that made them work. El was my favorite! The 2D/3D animation, retro aesthetic, and creature designs were fantastic.
